Story Walk

The Southwest Georgia Regional Library System, in collaboration with the City of Bainbridge and Seminole State Park, have installed two StoryWalks® in our community. One is by the waterfront west of the train trestle on Hatcher Road in Bainbridge and the second is at Seminole State Park on a trail across from the cabins. Enjoy a family bonding experience of reading a children’s picture book while walking along the trail. Reading is the foundation of learning and early literacy skills develop through positive interaction with books and other people. Spread the joy of reading!

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson. As a part of the Let’s Move in Libraries Project, this brings reading outside the library by making it an activity. Currently, there are StoryWalks installed in 50 states and 13 countries, which include Canada, England, Germany, Pakistan, and South Korea.

This StoryWalk® was made possible by funding from the Edward C. Fogg, III and Lisbeth A. Fogg Charitable Trust and the Decatur County-Gilbert H. Gragg Library Foundation.
