Located blocks from the home of Swamp Gravy, the Miller County - James W. Merritt, Jr. Memorial Library provides a great selection of print and audio-visual materials for check out. In addition to the traditional fiction and nonfiction collections, the library offers books on CD and tape, large print materials, and DVDs. Your PINES card will also allow you to borrow materials from libraries across the state. The genealogy collection provides access to local histories, yearbooks, and Miller County family histories. Computers are also available to check email, search the Internet, and write a paper.
The First Tuesday Book Club invites all patrons to come each month to discuss a great book. Past discussions include A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, Night by Elie Wiesel, and Good Grief by Lolly Winston. Introductory computer classes are also offered for adults on subjects such as Microsoft Word, searching the Internet, and how to use a computer.
