Audio-Visual Equipment
The library has a variety of audio-visual equipment for public use. The library checks
out Opaque projectors, 16mm projectors, filmstrip projectors, carousel slide projectors
and screens. A television with VCR player, a record player, an overhead projector, an
opaque projector, a telecommunications device for the deaf (TDD), a compact disc player
with headphones, a slide/film/photo transfer to video system with sound dubbing and a LCD
projection panel for use with a computer are available for patrons to use in the library.
Most audio-visual equipment checks out for 5 days.
There are IBM compatible computers at all three libraries for public use with a variety
of software and CD Roms available. The Decatur Library also offers the Ex Libris
Internet connection.
Grants from the International Paper Company Foundation were used to fund 70 computer
programs for children's computers. These include titles such as "Math Blaster"
and "Reading Rainbow" and are located on six computers in the children's area.
