Library Cards New borrowers are issued a library card upon
presentation of appropriate identification and proof of state residency.
Loan Period/Check Out Limit Books may be checked out for a period of
14 days, and patrons may check out up to 50 items at a time.
Renewals Books may be renewed twice… in person, by telephone, or on
the Internet. Items with outstanding requests will not be renewed.
Overdues Overdue notices are sent out one week after due date.
Borrowers must have returned all overdue items before checking out additional
items.
Lost materials Lost or damaged books, videos, or other materials may
be paid for in the business office on the first floor. Please make checks
payable to the library. Patrons are charged replacement costs of $33 for
hardback and large print books; $19 for trade paperbacks; $5 for mass market
paperbacks; acquisition cost to the library for videos, films, flags, and other
items. An additional $8.00 processing fee is added to each item; Or, patron may
purchase a new copy of the lost item and pay the $8.00 processing fee.
Magazines/Journals/Newspapers Magazines, journals and newspapers are
available for use at the library.
Inter-library Loan Will loan books to any PINES library at
no charge. Library patrons may request materials not owned by PINES libraries
through Inter-library loan. There is a maximum charge of $5.
Audio-Visual Collection Audiobooks are available for a
two-week checkout period. Videos may be checked out by patrons ages 18 or over
for a week period. There is a limit of 5 videos per family.
Admission All researchers and visitors are required to check in and
out with the Reference staff. Proper identification and name, permanent address,
local address, occupation, residence phone, local phone or current State Library
card shall be supplied when checking in with Reference staff.
Use Policies Pencils, note cards, loose blank papers, ring binders
without material in pockets, and light wraps such as sweaters or shawls are
permitted. The following items are prohibited: any food or beverage, any form of
ink or ink pens, briefcases, bags, purses, envelopes or other containers, and
any books or other materials which might be confused with the holdings of the
Florida Collection. ALL MATERIAL
BROUGHT INTO THE DOROTHY DODD ROOM MAY BE EXAMINED UPON LEAVING.
Copiers/Other Equipment A photocopier is available for public use.
Copies are $.10. Microfilm and microfiche reader/printers, and
Internet-accessible computers are also available.
Circulation Reference materials are available for use at the
library and may be loaned briefly to state agency staff or on interlibrary loan.
Public Computers Internet-accessible computers are available for up to
one hour's use by individual patrons.
